Hanwha Aerospace Signs MOU with GoCraft to Establish Local Maintenance Framework
- Hanwha Aerospace signs an MOU with GoCraft OÜ to establish a framework for maintenance cooperation.
- The two companies aim to localize spare parts supply and technical training for Hanwha Aerospace’s equipment including Chunmoo systems.
- This partnership reinforces Estonia’s sovereign defense capabilities and ensures the operational readiness of critical systems.
Hanwha Aerospace has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with GoCraft OÜ, an Estonian military maintenance and engineering company, to establish a local framework for technical cooperation and maintenance.
The signing ceremony was held in Tallinn on the 21st, with Mr. Robert (Sang-won) Park, the head of Hanwha Aerospace’s AD & Missile Launcher Systems Business Unit, and Tormis Saar, CEO of GoCraft OÜ, in attendance.
Under the agreement, the two companies aim to cooperate on transferring maintenance know-how, conducting technical training, and localizing spare parts supply.
The primary objective of this collaboration is to ensure the reliable operation and security of supply for the Chunmoo Systems that Hanwha Aerospace supplies to the Estonian Defence Forces.
This agreement deepens Hanwha Aerospace’s commitment to Estonia, building on the delivery of K9 Self-Propelled Howitzers in 2020 and recent contract to supply Chunmoo Systems. It serves as a solid foundation for expanding practical cooperation between Estonia and Hanwha.
Looking ahead, Hanwha Aerospace aims to bolster Estonia’s sovereign capabilities by enabling local industry to handle critical maintenance tasks.
Specifically, in the event of the future opportunity involving the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle(IFV), Hanwha is actively considering the establishment of a Center of Excellence in Estonia. This facility would empower local industry to perform core maintenance across all major land systems – including the K9, Chunmoo, and Redback IFV.
Mr. Robert Park said, “We are focused on practical cooperation that leaves lasting defence capabilities in Estonia.” He added, “By localizing maintenance and sharing technical know-how with partners like GoCraft, we will directly contribute to reinforcing Estonia’s national defence capabilities.”
“We look forward to our cooperation with Hanwha Aerospace, and I am confident that together we can achieve outstanding results. Our objective is to provide the highest-quality technical services for the Chunmoo Systems and to ensure the best logistical support for the Estonian Defence Forces. This collaboration strengthens our national defence and contributes to the achievement of our shared goals,” said Tormis Saar, CEO of GoCraft OÜ.
